Hollywood Film & Acting Academy Launches New Courses

Carlos Gallardo, star of the classic film "El Mariachi" and producer of "Desperado" and "Once Upon a Time in Mexico" will offer several lectures to students about his experience as an independent filmmaker and actor.

Los Angeles, California, USA - The beginning of March, 2009, will usher in new courses at the Hollywood Film & Acting Academy to better equip the students in the art of cinematography on both sides of the camera.

The classes will focus on major topics of filmmaking such as editing, cinematography, scriptwriting, directing and acting for film or commercials. They will range from two days to 16 weeks and will be taught by filmmakers and actors who have extensive professional experience in the film industry of Hollywood.

Thanks to the plan developed by academic Josh Sands, the director and founder, who would describe this as a “working, hands-on” school, the students are not only equipped with knowledge but are given the opportunity to actually make movies, or act in them.

Josh Sands adds, “We’re proud to announce that at the end of each course, no matter what the duration, each of the students will leave the Academy with something to add to their demo reel.”

As an added attraction for 2009, the Hollywood Film & Acting Academy will host a series of exclusive readings given by Mexican actor, screenwriter and producer Carlos Gallardo, who became known internationally, along with Robert Rodriguez, for the legendary and inspirational film "El Mariachi", which was produced with a budget of only $7000 dollars.

For Josh Sands to work with someone as celebrated and influential as Carlos Gallardo is a golden opportunity that could not be turned down. Carlos Gallardo, who has a long history as a producer in and outside of Hollywood in such films as "Desperado", "Once Upon A Time In Mexico”, “Single Action", "Bandido" and "Healer”, represents the spirit of artistic talent and know-how that brings an independent film to life.
